The Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office (UU-UNO)

The Envoy Corner

by Eleanor Mason

Now is the time for all envoys and UU-UNO members to arrange for UN Sunday for their congregations, designate the collection that morning for the UU-UNO, and circulate membership brochures to attract new members. The UN Sunday Order Form is included in the current issue of Window on the World. Please send summaries of your UN services to me at 6 Sunrise Drive, Morris Plains, NJ 07950; or e-mail me at

Please welcome district envoys: Dave M. Di Giacomo, from Mountain Desert; and Edie Holden, representing the new Heartland District that combines Michigan and Ohio Valley. More than 500 volunteer envoys across North America provide liaison between the UU-UNO and congregations coordinating energy, ideas and actions.   Envoys communicate UN news not usually reported by the media, inform congregations of action opportunities, facilitate UN Sunday observances, encourage attendance at the UN and UU-UNO conferences, recruit members and increase visibility and support for the UU-UNO.
